France, Alpes de Haute Provence - Valensole
The Plateau de Valensole is one of the major lavender growing regions of France. The altitude at around 500 metres is perfectly suited with the well drained soil for lavender production. Summer temperatures can be in excess of 37°C and very heavy thunder storms are frequent. The Plataau de Valensole is in fact one of the most storm prone areas in France.
Being in the tallest object together with a tripod in the middle of a large, very flat lavender field with a violent thunder storm closing in hasn't made it onto my 'bucket list'. File 0099.
