Prints and Mounted Prints

Currently all of my images are offered as open editions as personally I prefer not to disrupt the balance of a print by signing either the print or the mount board. Each print is produced to order and is supplied together with a label signed by me, giving the title of the image and its date of printing.
Throughout the web site wherever any reference is made to print size this refers to the dimensions of the printed area not the paper size. All prints are sized so as to allow a small border area around the outside of the print. For those prints supplied as mounted prints the aperture of the mount is sized to match exactly the print dimensions. In this way no white border is visible only the printed area.

Paper and Printer

Ilford Gallerie Gold Fibre Silk (320gsm) is a true heavyweight paper with a smooth silk surface finish specifically developed by Ilford for use with pigment based inks. This paper includes an integral baryta layer which helps to improve definition, extends the tonal range and has superb archival qualities. By using the Epson UltraChrome K3 inks accelerated ageing tests for prints stored under glass indicate a minimum of 30 years plus for colour stability.

All prints are produced in house using a wide format professional grade Epson printer running only original Epson UltraChrome K3 inks with vivid Magenta.

All my processing is done using a 24" Eizo ColorEdge monitor which is colour calibrated every three weeks using an X-rite eye-one pro. This also allows me to colour calibrate my printer as closely as possible to my monitor screen by producing my own colour profile for  the paper I use.
Each new print is laid out on a flat surface and allowed to air dry for a minimum of at least twenty four hours. The print is then personally inspected by myself, once I'm satisfied with it's quality and colour it is then protected with acid free, pH neutral tissue paper and prepared for delivery in double krafted and fluted flat pack cardboard. I do not supply prints rolled and shipped in postal tubes of any size. A great deal of care, time and attention to detail has gone into producing your print. You deserve to receive it flat and in pristine condition, not looking like a scroll.
Please note that the printed surface is susceptible to being marked, you should avoid, touching, blowing or brushing the surface. Delivery time on prints is approximately two weeks from receipt of order.

Mounted Prints

All prints sizes at 12" x 8" are supplied with a single bevelled edge mount. Prints sized at 18" x 12" and 21" x 14" are supplied with double bevelled edge cut mounts . Your selected print is prepared and mounted by a Fine Art Trade Guild certified framer. All mounted prints are supplied together with a backing board. The mount board is supplied as off white, is acid free, pH neutral and meets conservation grade standards. Mounts are supplied with a 3½" border on all four sides. Delivery time on mounted prints to the UK is approximately two weeks from receipt of order. For Europe and the Rest of the World approximately four weeks.

Framed Prints

Every frame supplied by Alba Landscapes needs to meet the exacting standards I set for my prints. For this reason all my framing is carried out by a local professional Guild Commended Framer using harder woods in order to meet the standards set by the Fine Art Trade Guild. Each framed print is supplied with a Guild Commended Framer label on the rear of the frame. Two choices of wood are available for framing in;

- Ash with a 1¾" flat faced moulding

Ash is an extremely attractive wood when used for framing, being equally suited for use with smaller and larger framed prints. The grain pattern of the wood ensures that no two frames are ever exactly alike.

- Oak with a 1¾" flat faced moulding

Famed for it's inherent qualities of durability and strength this natural Oak moulding provides a more traditional framing material.

Both the Ash and the Oak mouldings are supplied as natural untreated woods. Frames are supplied sealed with adhesive tape and are strung ready to hang. Each frame is supplied with corner bumpers to prevent marking the wall it is hung on. The glass supplied in all frames is high quality 2mm float glass which gives better colour rendition as opposed to non-reflective glass when used on a mounted print. Delivery time on mounted prints to the UK is approximately two weeks from receipt of order. For Europe and the Rest of the World approximately four weeks.

Canvases

Stretched canvas prints have become a favoured option for displaying images at a larger size than framed photographic prints. Canvases are available in four different size options. Each canvas is printed onto 415gsm ultra white canvas fabric that satisfies the archival standards specified by the Fine Art Trade Guild. The image is printed using the latest Epson 9900 series wide format professional printers running genuine Epson UltraChrome K3 inks which are guaranteed to be colourfast for 75 years. The solid pine 44mm stretcher bars also have brace bars inserted. Each frame is corner wedged to allow re-tensioning should it be required at a future date. The canvas is supplied ready to hang.

Three canvas styles are available. i) Gallery wrap- this style wraps the image around the frame. ii) Gallery-gives a white edge on the sides of the frame. iii) Gallery border- permits a white border around your image and the edge of the frame.

Delivery times for canvas prints are approximately three week for the UK. For Europe and the rest of the world please allow approximately four to six weeks.

Image Bloc

Is your preference for something different to a framed photographic print or framed canvas? Then the Image Bloc may be the solution your looking for with it's fresh contemporary style. The Image Bloc or boxed framed print is a modern and contemporary method of presenting an image. Each Image Bloc is manufactured using a solid wooden frame. The frame itself being manufactured in black with dimensions of fifty millimetres. A five millimetre thick foam board is inserted into each frame, this board is set back from the surface and recessed into the wooden frame to give a feeling of depth. The image, which is printed onto photographic vinyl of 275 gsm is fixed to the foam core board and then laminated. This lamination process provides a robust and durable finish which can be wiped with a damp cloth. Each Image Bloc is handmade and printed using professional wide format Epson printers running genuine Epson UltraChrome K3 inks with vivid Magenta.

Delivery times for canvas prints are approximately three week for the UK. For Europe and the rest of the world please allow approximately four to six weeks.
